About Me
Hello, my name is Eileen O’ Connor. I hold a Bachelors of Arts (BA) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a fully accredited, supervised, garda vetted psychotherapist. I am a member of the Irish Association of counsellors and Psychotherapist (IACP) and maintain the professional standard set out in their code of ethics.
I have been practicing as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist for a number of years, working with different agencies such as The Village Counselling Service, Dublin and with Kildare Youth Services in Newbridge/Naas. I am currently practicing in The Basin Street Centre, Counselling and Psychotherapy, Naas, Co. Kildare. I began my career as a therapist in 2011 and this journey has gifted me the opportunity to work with some inspirational people who have had a long-lasting effect in my life and helped shape my work as a therapist.
Understanding the Process
For our first meeting, with your permission, I will take a background history and will gently explore why you have decided to come to therapy. We will explore your goals and get to know each other. We will also discuss and sign an agreement. This agreement ensures that the therapy process will be performed in a safe and professional manner. The agreement will also highlight the responsibilities of the therapists towards you my client, as well as you the client towards me your therapist. I will be open to answering any questions you have in relation to my qualfication or the process of therapy.
